Mark your calendars! Join us for a Backyard Bird Workshop on Saturday, February 18 from 1-3 p.m.
Participants will join rangers and local bird enthusiast Joey O’Quinn for a fun-filled afternoon, during which they will learn about how to get started in bird watching and how to identify birds that live in their own backyard. Participants will walk around the museum grounds and along the greenbelt of the Powell River, identifying birds as they go.
Each participant will be provided a journal in which they can record bird sightings on this and all their future adventures. After their walk, participants will have the opportunity to create a bird feeder from recycled materials to take home with them. This workshop is for adults and children.
Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and comfortable walking shoes. Binoculars will be helpful, but not required.
The fee for the workshop will be $10 per person; all supplies and materials are included.
Registration is required. To register, or for more information, please call the park at 276-523-1322.
