We must have at least 5 dogs signed up and paid in full to hold class with a maximum of 12 dogs in class. Children over 10 are welcome as long as they do not distract from training. Limit of two handlers per dog.

This class is for puppies 10 weeks to 6 month of age. All dogs mst be up to date on age appropriate vaccines. All dogs age 4 months and up require a current rabies vaccine per VA law.

All dogs must be dog and human friendly or neutral. *No aggression*. If your puppy has severe behavioral issues please contact us for alternative training.

All dogs need to be on a regular 6ft leash (no retractable leashes please) and a well fitted collar or slip leash so your dog cannot back out of his collar (no harnesses for class please). Please bring treats (Pet Botanics, Mini Zukes, pieces of low sodium hot dog or cut up chicken breast in a baggy or any other soft/small training treat to use during class). Some dogs do better if they are not fed before class and if free fed at home, take up food 3 hours before class.)

A bait bag/treat pouch, or right hand side pocket with a small baggy of food will work best. Please do not bring extra stuff like purses, bags, etc. It will be hard to handle that, your treats, and your leashed dog and we may be doing some walking in town.

We will cover: sit, down, leash manners, puppy handling (essential for vet and groomer visits), potty and crate training, social skills, as well as Q&A.

If class is rescheduled it will be posted at The Good Shepherd Dog Training on Instagram and Facebook and we will make up that class, otherwise there will be no make up classes.

This is a puppy foundations class. This will help you navigate puppyhood, teach you the basics of starting a dog on the right path, teach you how to provide enrichment for your puppy, and begin a wonderful relationship with your dog!
