The Edge is Open on Saturday nights for youth.. Doors open at 6pm, but we’re usually there working on something.
The Edge is a place in Big Stone Gap, where music and other great activities are on a mission.
Here are a few of my Saturday thoughts at The Edge…
I’m oftened thanked for providing The Edge for our youth and our community. When they do, I think of all those who make it possible to see our vision come to light for youth and young adults.
One moment that occurred one saturday night after everyone left was this. A young lady shared her dream with me and I listened as she made her dream come to life in her sharing.
Another moment is when I sit and listen to each musican and in each live preformace I hear their emotions come to life. They are living their dreams on that stage.
On a poetry night, I see youth share their passion through reciting their favorite poem.
Another moment is when I watch and listen to youth hanging out with one another and simply enjoying each others company. I’ve seen the Edge be a safe fun place for youth to get away from a not so good environment at home or school. Youth who were shy, I’ve seen open up to enjoying others and themselves!
There are so many moments for me that make every minute, hour invested at the Edge worth it. I simply see my vision coming to life. At the Edge, I see youth living moments in their lives that makes them life memories to remember. Great memories can get us through those not so good days.
So.. What is The Edge?
The Edge is a Teen Center Music Venue, Where music and other activities are on a mission.
The Edge is a Student Training Program, where youth have the opportunity to gain work skills and much much more in their lives.
The Edge is a place for teens to hang out.
The Edge is a Music Venue where bands, musicians, DJs and other performers, play live for Teens and Young Adults.
The Edge is a family friendly place for the family.
The Edge is a Great Place to Hang, and so much more.
Pictured are Brandon and Tiffany getting the counter ready to paint. Brandon Maggard and Anthony Wayne have worked days to get The Edge open again. We contine to work now giving The Edge a new makeover.
