Lessons will take place weekly for 5 consecutive weeks at the same time and place as the first unless otherwise noted. (For this set of classes it will be January 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st & February 7th at 6pm.)
***The first class on January 10th will be for humans only, NO DOGS. This will help make the first class with your dog much smoother and we can spend some time on Q&A, some things you can work on at home before bringing your dog, etc.***
We must have at least 4 dogs signed up with the trainer paid in full to hold class. This class will be a maximum of 6 dogs in class. Children over 10 are welcome as long as they do not distract from training but we do have a two handler limit due to space constraints.
This class is for puppies aged 10 weeks up to 2 years of age. All dogs mst be up to date on age appropriate vaccines. All dogs age 4 months and up require a current rabies vaccine per VA law. We recommend puppies have two sets of core vaccines before attending.
All dogs must be dog and human friendly or neutral. *No aggression*. If your dog has severe behavioral issues please contact us for alternative training.
We will cover: sit, down, place, leash manners/walking, handling (essential for vet and groomer visits), potty and crate training, social skills, as well as Q&A.
Price is $175 (per dog for all 5 lessons total). You will pay the trainer $150 directly to secure your spot and $25 to Far Fetched on the first day. Please contact us at gsdogtraining@yahoo.com, or on Facebook at The Good Shepherd Dog Training for payment options and for your registration form. Your spot will not be guaranteed until we have payment and a completed form with proof of rabies vaccine.
If class is rescheduled due to a trainer emergency or weather, it will be posted at The Good Shepherd Dog Training on Instagram and Facebook and we will make up that class, otherwise there will be no make up classes if you miss a class.
This is a foundations class. This will help you navigate puppyhood/adolescence, teach you the basics of starting a dog on the right path, how to manage behavior, teach you how to provide structure for your dog, teach relaxation, and begin a wonderful relationship together!
We will go over what to bring and the expectations for you/your dog at the first class when only the human end of the leash is in attendance. The first class is mandatory and we ask that you not arrive late, as we will cover a lot of information in a short period of time. You may take notes but please no photos or videos of the trainer.
