Native to Puerto Rico – in their traditional percussive form. The ensemble’s music and sound pays homage and follows the traditions of Plena from Western Puerto Rico. Their narrative lyrics describe Puerto Rican society, culture, and traditions, utilizing the genre’s long-rooted storytelling traditions to vividly capture aspects of the Puerto Rican experience on the U.S. territory and mainland.
