Proud of What I Was… A Soldier

Excerpt from Dan’s Book Summary:

The book is an autobiographical narrative of my career, but the emphasis is not on me, but on the people that I was so fortunate to serve with. Much of the book is humorous. The things that young soldiers, away from home for the first time, with a little income, often in a foreign country, can do is mind-boggling. I tell stories about young soldiers in Germany who do some of the most unforgettable stunts, to soldiers in Vietnam who develop a sure-fire preventative for venereal disease, to a soldier who sells “grass” to make a little extra spending cash at Ft. Eustis, Virginia to the civilian employee who brings the first skunk to Korea. All of these stories are true and happened just as in the book with names changed.

The book is available from Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com. It can also be ordered through your local bookstore from Xlibris Press of Bloomington, Indiana. It is in hardback, paperback, or e-book formats. It is 386 pages with numerous photos imbedded in the text. The book has been nominated for the Library of Virginia Literary Award for Virginia authors.
