The Hillbilly Hippies Information

The Hillbilly Hippies are a mountain music string band that is very proud of their Appalachian roots; but enjoys playing and performing a wide variety of music.  Members include Dawn Bays on fiddle, Mary Lou Carter on banjo, Larry Mullins on guitar, Les Bailey on bass, and Joey O’Quinn on banjo.

The Hillbilly Hippies have performed at a variety of venues along Virginia’s Crooked Road Heritage Music Trail and currently appear regularly during the summer season as the house band for “The Trail of the Lonesome Pine’, the official outdoor drama for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Hillbilly Hippies have a wonderful way of mixing old-time tunes, 70’s soft rock, country ballads, bluegrass standards, and folk songs into a unique show.
