The charming Greenbelt Trail surrounds the town, following the Powell River, and can be accessed from many points around Big Stone Gap, including Bullitt Park. This enchanted path offers leisure walking and biking for nearly 3 miles with opportunities to find whimsical carvings and watch birds and wildlife year round. Along the way you will find park benches, rest stops and picnic tables for lunch and liesure. The Greenbelt passes by several parks such as Bullit Park, Big Stone Dog Park, Carnes Park and Frog Level Park. The Powell River follows the Greenbelt Trail and you will find some of the best fishing spots in town along it’s banks.
