LANDS ON STAGE AT THE LYRIC

St. Paul, VA – Shreds & Patches Theater Company invites audiences to take flight in their upcoming production of “Peter/Wendy,” Jeremy Bloom’s reimagining of J.M. Barrie’s beloved classic. Stripping the story down to its emotional essence, Bloom’s adaptation captures the wonder, longing, and bittersweet truths at the heart of Peter Pan’s world. Pro-Art proudly presents Shreds & Patches Theater Company in “Peter/Wendy” on Saturday, August 23rd at 7 p.m. at Lyric Theater in St. Paul. Children and students will be admitted free to the performance. Adult tickets are $15 at the door. For more information and to make reservations, please visit proartva.org.

In this lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of “Peter Pan,” Peter lures Wendy away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland, where she joins his adventures with Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, and the menacing Captain Hook. This inventive adaptation pays homage to the darker themes of J.M. Barrie’s original, mesmerizing audiences of all ages. The result is a theatrical experience that’s both familiar and startlingly fresh.

“It’s a beautiful script,” said Director Michael McNulty, “And it’s great to be able to work with some really dedicated students and professionals on a project of this caliber.”

Shreds & Patches Theater Company is dedicated to the undoing of expectation, excavating festivity from daily life through performance and decoration to engender playful imagining and meaningful reflection. The company is made up of UVA Wise alumni, including professional actors and technical crew members, alongside current UVA Wise students.
