Come on out Friday, July 25th from 6β8 PM for a one-of-a-kind, only-in-Appalachia kind of night!
Local legend Bill Smith is putting his HAIR where his heart is β heβs cutting off his iconic ponytail and beard to raise money for JAMS (Junior Appalachian Music School), an organization devoted to keeping mountain music traditions alive by teaching local youth how to play, listen, and feel the music of their region.

The twist? Heβs getting trimmed live on stage by none other than Jim Lloyd β a professional barber, cherished old-time musician, and master storyteller. And yesβ¦ Jim will be roasting Bill the entire time. You donβt want to miss this!

Live music throughout the evening from:
β’ A few musical friends β including Richard Phillips and more!

Hair will be auctioned. Bread might be too. Donations will be accepted all evening β every dollar supports the mission of
WiseJams β Big Stone Gap, which provides accessible, after-school music programs that introduce children (typically grades 4β8) to Appalachian instruments and oral traditions through small group instruction, community mentorship, and cultural storytelling.
Come for the music, stay for the mayhem, and leave with a heart full of heritage.
