geonovah LIVE at GoodTimes

Live music is the heartbeat of what we do here—and this month, we’ve got something for everyone. From country and blues to hip-hop, rock, and even karaoke nights where you’re the star, July is packed with talent you won’t want to miss. Come for the music, stay for the vibes. Here’s who’s taking the stage:

If you love a little southern soul in your country, Jay Dee delivers. This Knoxville-based singer-songwriter blends classic and contemporary country with a healthy dose of Southern Rock. Whether he’s playing originals off his Nashville-recorded EP American Made or taking requests from the crowd, every show is a full-on experience. He plays 20+ shows a month across the Southeast, but we’re lucky to have him right here at GoodTimes.

Born and raised in Big Stone Gap, hip-hop artist geonovah brings honest storytelling and poetic grit to the stage. His music dives into real-life moments—love, struggle, joy, family—all wrapped in smooth beats and sharp lyrics. With deep ties to Appalachian culture and a mission to build space for local artists, geonovah’s set is more than a show—it’s a movement. Don’t miss this hometown legend in the making.

Cody’s the kind of artist whose voice makes you stop mid-bite and listen. He’s got that soulful, nostalgic country vibe that just hits right. Playing acoustic guitar and writing his own music (including intro tracks for pro wrestlers!), Cody’s style feels both familiar and fresh. You’ll feel like you’re sitting around a fire with an old friend—if your friend just happened to be an incredible musician.

They had their first show right here at GoodTimes—and we’ve been big fans ever since. Five friends, one killer band, and a setlist full of 90s & 2000s hits, country, blues, rock, and even some originals. Whether you’re in it for the nostalgia or the energy, Broken Chordz knows how to keep a crowd singing along all night.

Honest lyrics, raw sound, and classic rock energy. Junction 4961 is a full band that brings a grounded, blues-inspired vibe to every show. Their style feels authentic—like something you’d hear pouring out of a garage where the good stuff is made. They’ve played our stage before, and trust us: they’re worth coming back for.

It’s your time to shine! Whether it’s your first time on the mic or your hundredth, karaoke at GoodTimes is always a night to remember. Hosted by the legendary Brandon Maggard, our stage welcomes everyone—kids, first-timers, seasoned pros, and shower singers alike. With thousands of songs to choose from, great food and drinks, and a full stage setup, all you need is a little courage (and maybe a shot of tequila
).

A blues trio with a rock ’n’ roll edge, Boogie Chillen blends the sounds of Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top, Jimi Hendrix, and John Lee Hooker. Frontman Victor Lawson, who moonlights as a middle school art teacher, absolutely shreds on the Stratocaster—putting his own spin on every tune. From smoky blues riffs to danceable classics, this set brings big-city blues right to our corner of the mountains.
