Raised on coal dust, distortion, and discontent, Scratch River crawled out of SWVA with a howl. Part front-porch dirge, part garage-floor feedback, this five-piece crafts a sound that’s bluesy, folksy, and cut from rough cloth. It’s music that doesn’t clean up nice—and it doesn’t need to. Speaking truth with a raw, unfiltered tenacity, they spin stories that bleed and moan like a small-town reckoning. Tales of broken promises, past mistakes, loneliness, restless ghosts, floods, and hearts that refuse to quit — each song is a confession. And when the last note fades, their echo stays with you — thick and wild like kudzu, clinging long after the amps cool down.
