If you love being outdoors, Big Stone Gap has plenty to offer as it features several parks, including Big Cherry Lake, which covers 2,200 acres and features various scenic hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty. You can also take a more strenuous trek on Roaring Branch and enjoy the stunning sites. This trail has so much to offer and is close to several of Big Stone Gap’s spectacular attractions that only a small Appalachian town could possess. This trail is extremely rugged and recommended for advanced hikers only.
