49th Annual MEOC Walkathon
The 49th MEOC Walkathon is just over a month away — Sunday, May 4, rain or shine, at Bullitt Park in Big Stone Gap — and we’re calling on you to help us raise $200,000 for the Emergency Fuel Fund for the Elderly.
Kindness Fuels Hope is this year’s theme. Every dollar raised helps an older adult stay warm during tough times. Last winter, the Emergency Fuel Fund helped 1,142 individuals across Lee, Scott and Wise counties and the City of Norton, spending more than $257,000. That’s a record-breaking amount, and the need keeps growing.
How you can help:
Raise money and walk. Download a form (
https://tinyurl.com/2025-walkathon-form), collect pledges and come to the walk on May 4. Raise at least $100 and receive a Walkathon T-shirt. Can’t walk? Donate! Every gift counts. Spread the word. Share this post. Talk to your church, coworkers, neighbors — anyone who cares.
