Annual Plant Sale Fundraiser for Earth day – Southwest VA Museum

Big Stone Gap, VA. In observance of Earth Day, the Friends of the Southwest Virginia Museum will host their Annual Plant Sale Fundraiser event on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Plant Sale Fundraiser will offer a variety of plants for purchase from $1 to $5, and all proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park.

From 11 a.m. to noon, volunteer Carol Moore will demonstrate how to take cuttings of some herbs and show participants how to create their own herbal oils, herbal vinegars, drying herbs, and how to make cuttings.

Participants who attend this workshop will take home a basil cutting. Several of the herbs used in this workshop will be available at the plant sale.

This is a free workshop; all supplies and materials are included. Registration is required for the workshop. Spaces are limited for the workshop, so register early by calling the park.

The Dogwood Garden Club Pollinator Exhibit will be on display in the Victorian parlor of the museum for viewing as well.

The Friends of the Southwest Virginia Museum is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, and items are tax-deductible.
