Birding in the Gap
The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will offer Birding in the Gap programs on the second Saturday of each month (except for October and December). The first installment in this series will be this Saturday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
This series will be hosted by our dedicated park rangers and volunteers, who are excited to share their knowledge and passion for birds with you. For those interested, we invite you to meet us at the front gate of the museum. Together, we will explore the museum grounds and stroll along the stunning greenbelt on the Powell River in Big Stone Gap. This easy and accessible walk offers a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the captivating world of birds.
The Birding in the Gap monthly series will be held rain or shine. Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and comfortable walking shoes. Binoculars are encouraged but not required.
