Lunch on the Lawn Music Series – Southwest Virginia Museum.
On Friday, June 20, from 12- 1 p.m., the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will kick off its annual “Lunch on the Lawn” series with a performance by local talent, Tommy Bright III.
Tommy, a passionate young performer dedicated to Appalachian culture and music, is a skilled multi-instrumentalist who plays in the house band for Big Stone Gap’s Trail of the Lonesome Pine Outdoor Drama. He continually seeks opportunities to celebrate and preserve the cultural heritage of his community. During the “Lunch on the Lawn” program, park staff and volunteers will provide crafts and activities for children, making it the perfect outing for families. Attendees are encouraged to come out and enjoy the Museum’s picturesque Victorian Garden, where they can relax under the shade trees while listening to an hour of delightful home-grown music and entertainment.
“Lunch on the Lawn” is free and open to the public, and participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. The series is held June through September on the third Friday of the month.
