Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park to Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day

BIG STONE GAP, VA – The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will celebrate National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 18, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

 

To celebrate National Kids to Parks Day, the park is offering a Children’s Prowl the Powell program. Has your child ever wanted to learn what call the Powell River Home? Children will learn what calls the river home as well as learn about the birds and other wildlife that live around the waterway. Participants who are interested in the Kids to Parks Day. should meet volunteers and park staff at the front gate of the museum. Led by rangers and volunteers, this mild, fully accessible, and educational walk follows the Powell River on nearly 3 miles of paved pathway, where you’re certain to see an abundance of Southwest Virginia wildlife.
